It is unquestionable that Wildfire is a good IM server having being deployed for various Entreprise Systems. Out of curosity ( as well as searching for various resources for AIR Derby), I decide to install it on my dedicated server. Now named Openfire, the installation is blazing fast. I configure sqlserver 2005 to be the back-end database and run the installation. The entire installation takes less than 3 minutes to complete. Enabling the alien IM plugin, now I got an IM server that can connect to various IMs (msn, etc) , with various functionality built in. I am play around with Flex / AS3 with it to see if there is any things I can come out with. Not much ideas now, but should be along the line.

Maybe I can construct a spam@expertria.com. When you add it as your friend and post a message to it, it will search your friends and spam all of them with the message. Ok, maybe not.

I migrated Icicle to AIR beta and fixed some small bugs as well.

The file size seems to be bigger. The air file was 331kb with alpha build but 461kb with beta build. Happy playing with it

I have successfully migrated Icicle from Apollo Alpha to Apollo Beta AIR Beta. Since Icicle is a pure AS3 apollo project built with FD, I am compiling it manually via commandline and ADT tools. The process is pretty simple , all you need to change is your application.xml. If you did not change the application.xml, the ADL tool will throw an error stating that the version is not supported.

For example, the application.xml no longer has the properties node. You will also need to change the xml namespace to”http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.0.M4″.

Currently, I am still getting a couple of errors to get Icicle work properly. I will investigate more and see if I can do it right.

This posting by Mashable is indeed the most using RSS tools resources in the entire planet and in the history of mankind too. Haha, it aggragtes RSS feeds aggregators for all kinds of Platform, as well as what you can do with your RSS feeds. A must have in your Delicious bookmark!
